You remember the original Max Payne from 2001, right? Well, El Paso Elsewhere is a love letter to that game as it features the same iconic gameplay, but the story is reminiscent of Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet. Except instead of the Montagues and the Capulets, its humans and vampires. Lord of the Vampires to be exact as your ex is about to conduct a ritual to end the world

The story is engaging, due to its Shakespearean formula, especially when combined with amazing voice acting and great direction during the cutscenes between chapters. Unfortunately, the big problem is that the gameplay just can’t make it to the finish line like the story as the mechanics, environments and enemies get repetitive by the time the credits roll.
