Hi there! Please read this. It’s a lot, but it’s all important.
All Invincibles: http://goo.gl/U3z43
This is all about spawning Vermivourous the Invincible by evolving varkids through making them pod up. It’s entirely random, and there’s no guarantee to make it happen. It’s a pain in the bum, and the payoff isn’t necessarily worth it. Just so you know.

So, there’s a lot of information to impart. I’ll start with the basics.
The spawn runthrough starts at 6:30 ish, but I recommend watching the whole thing if you’re having trouble. There are a lot of useful tips (I hope).

That being said, for the impatient, here’s what to do.
1) Go to Tundra Express Farmhouse (how to unlock is at 12:55). Caustic Caverns works fine. But I like the farmhouse to hide in.
2) Run around and aggro the larval varkids (you can shoot them, it’s fine).
3) Run into the farmhouse.
4) Shoot the walls.
5) If the buzzards turn up before he spawns, quit and start again.
6) Trying to spawn him solo is going to be a freaking nightmare.
7) I don’t think you can spawn him on playthrough one. Playthrough 2/2.5 (True Vault Hunter Mode) only.
8) They’re not Goliaths. You don’t need to “feed” them on other monsters.

Ok, more details.
They’ll evolve under a number of conditions.
– Immediately.
– after attacking you.
– after being damaged
– nearly dead
– never

There seems to be a limit of evolved varkids at any time. That is, kill an evolved one, and another will evolve immediately afterwards. I have seen this behaviour repeatedly. It may simply be a larval that evolves to an adult, but it will happen.

Any given larvid has a percentage chance (which may be 0%) to spawn to the next stage. This chance may start at 100%. Damaging them will increase the chance to make it evolve. You care about the ones who will evolve immediately, the ones who will evolve after a little damage, or when a friend of theirs dies.

The theory that you need a family tree is nonsense (see: 4:50). I’ve spawned a lone varkid to an ultimate, with no-one around. The only difference is more varkids mean a greater chance to spawn Vermi. Using my method, he’ll spawn about 1 in 4 in runs, or about once per 40 minutes.

He can be spawned anywhere there are varkids (Caustic Caverns, for example). I use Tundra Express because there’s a great hiding spot. I die too quickly otherwise. Perhaps with better equipment, elsewhere would be better, but it’s not about killing, it’s about staying alive while they evolve.

Equipment:
Shield: no-damage (it’ll kill larvals too easily if it spikes or novas them)
Relic: I use loot, but whatever works.
Mod: Shield regen, health regen are advised, but take what works for you.
Weapons: Make sure you can kill a badass varkid in a single “fight for your life”. I use a moxxi’s acid weapon.
I haven’t farmed anything serious – this is all fairly vanilla gear acquired through chests and machines. Using a Conference Call and a Bee shield would certainly slay him quickly, but I wanted to show an average player can do it.

He will spawn in Playthrough 2 as well as 2.5 (he’ll be either level 42 or 53 respectively).
I don’t think he’ll spawn in playthrough 1. I never even saw an ultimate badass varkid in playthrough 1, and I had 10 or so supers at one point.

I’m using a 4 player slider, which lets you simulate 4 players (PC only). Solo is so unlikely. Playing solo, 1 run in 4, I would see an ultimate badass spawn, and never saw Vermi. With 4 players, Vermi spawns 1 time in 3-4. (http://myborderlands.com/FourPlayers.aspx)

If the buzzards turn up, quit and start again. You can evolve him afterwards, but honestly? It’s more hassle than it’s worth. He can evolve quickly, so don’t waste time trying to force it. It’s all about knowing when you cut your losses, and the buzzards act as a great timer/reminder that it’s time to go. The runthrough I show at 8:14 finishes at 11:14 and runs at double speed. So it’s about 6 minutes for him to appear.

Bottom line: Chance of Larval evolving to Vermi in playthrough 2.5
1 player: 1:2381
2 players: 1:417
3 players: 1:141
4 players: 1:60
So, 4 players, 15 varkids, 1 in 4 chance. Ish.
